THE
ROOMS AND GARDENS
The Millings stands
in nearly two acres of gardens with flower beds, extensive lawns, orchard,
greenhouse and sitting areas. Most of the rooms overlook the gardens and
orchard.
An
impressive programme of upgrading facilities at the Millings has now been
successfully completed. All rooms are newly decorated and refurbished
to a high standard with private ensuite facilities. Premier rooms are
available for those residents wishing to share.
Although our rooms
are fully furnished, residents are able to bring small items of personal
furniture into the home and may have their own telephone installed if
they so wish. Daily newspapers can also be delivered to residents rooms
and many residents have their own televisions to allow privacy in viewing.
All rooms are connected to a central Nurse Call System to ensure an immediate
response from staff and rooms on upper floors are reached by either a
central stairway or by using the passenger lift. Elderly people who may
be a little wary of lifts are accompanied by staff and they seem to become
very confident in using the lift in a very short time.
The Millings has four lounges and a dining room although meals can be
taken in rooms if required and some residents eat together in smaller
groups in the lounges. Our meals are freshly prepared in true Yorkshire
fashion and we do try to cater for all tastes and diets especially where
residents are on diets that relate to specific medical conditions.
The bathrooms are situated in all main areas and floors of the building
and we also have a shower room which is accessible to wheelchair users.
A comprehensive range of bathing equipment provides the freedom to enjoy
the luxuries of bathing independently, or with the level of assistance
you require to bathe in comfort and privacy. Why not relax and enjoy the
luxury of a hydrospa bath, complete with a hydraulic powered bath seat
which enables you to get safely in and out of the bath by yourself!
Toilets are also easily accessible where residents do not wish to return
to their rooms to use their own personal facility.
